Did you Know?

  • High crime rates have a negative impact on both long and short term property values and quality of life issues.

  • Families in high crime areas tend to have higher rates for both home and auto insurance as well as fewer options for home delivery service.

  • Neighborhood watch programs are proven to reduce crime and are fully supported by your local police department as an important weapon to fight the crime that has a drastic effect on YOU, YOUR FAMILY and YOUR NEIGHBORS.

We are all in this together!

According to the National Crime Prevention Council 2006 Report, on Birmingham, AL:

  • Thirteen out of 15 neighborhoods had experienced high rates of burglary.
  • After Neighborhood Watch started, 12 of the 15 neighborhoods had no burglaries.

Crestwood Neighborhood Watch is growing area neighborhood watch programs. Currently we are recruiting new block captains. Join us at the East Precinct Block Watch meeting on July 17th, 2010 Saturday, at 11am, 600 Red Lane Road, Birmingham, AL. After April we will meet the 2nd Thursday of the month each month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Community Education South, 1220 50th Street South, Birmingham, AL. For questions, contact Annie Marie Brown, Crime Prevention Officer, East Precinct, e-mail: annie.brown@birmingamal.gov, 205-833-8113.

Your Participation is both wanted and needed!
